Some great comments here. Gram was one of the greats. He was in a band that was great itself, the Byrds, and managed to invent an entirely different style of music known as country rock. Definitely missed.
Or maybe it's better to die young.

That was one great band, the seed of both Son Volt and Wilco. Young guys from southern Illinois at the time.
