BTW. IN just 3 weeks the PS3 Slim sold over 1 million consoles,in no time they'll close the 6 million gap from the 360 . If Sony can sell 1 million in 3 weeks until the first week of january 2010 they can pass the 360 .

Microsoft is a force to be reckoned with in this industry especially since the 2005 debut of the Xbox360. They were the first to come in the market, introducing Hi-Definition gaming content on a console, offering the definitive online experience and a major feature that has become the sleeper hit of all time and thats ACHIEVEMENT POINTS.

Microsoft knew the competiton from Sony wasnt too far away so they prepared for battle early and for a good year and a half it seemed as if this console war was over by a slaughter but slowly and gradually things started to change. The first major impact that Sony had was winning the format war over HD-DVD, then came the first price cut, Now the games are becoming big leaps over the competition, and the main thing thats left is additonal features to the online service.

God Of War III Demo Packed Into District 9 Blu-ray: Oct/28/2009

Sony has a great post-holiday present for PlayStation 3 owners in the works. If you pick up the Blu-ray release of District 9 on December 29, youll have access to an exclusive God of War III demo thats built into the disc. Once you beat that demo, youll also be able to check out a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game.

Blu-ray functionality has long been a differentiator that separates the PS3 from other home entertainment systems, says Peter Dille, senior vice president of marketing and PlayStation Network, SCEA. Through this collaboration with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment we're able to create a unique experience only available on the PS3 system that blends two of the most popular entertainment options available, watching District 9 and playing God of War III off the same disc.

The Blu-ray edition of Neill Blomkamps movie also includes a digital copy, an interactive map and other special features. It will be available for $39.95. Its rated R, which should make Kratos feel right at home.

Sony: 3.2m PS3s sold during Q2, 27m PS3s sold to date Oct/29/2009
When Sony axed the price of the PS3 by $100 in mid-August, everyone expected PS3 sales to skyrocket - and sky rocket they did, according to Sony. In their latest financial reports, Sony has announced that they've sold 3.2 million PS3s during Q2 at the new $299 price point, while the PS3 as a whole has sold 27 million units to date worldwide. Their data suggests they also outsold the 360 worldwide during Q2, and nearly matched the Wii at 2.1 and 3.5 million units respectively.

Halo Legends Coming to Blu-ray in 2010
While Microsoft may be holding back on Blu-ray for their Xbox 360 video game system, they will allow a new seven part anime series based on the popular Xbox-exclusive game Halo to be released on the high definition format. 'Halo Legends', which is currently being worked for a 2010 release, will feature seven short anime films based in the Halo universe.
In a move that will invoke comparisons to 'The Animatrix', Microsoft has enlisted the help from popular anime studios Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4 C, and Toei Animation to produce the content. The shorts will first be previewed on Xbox Live, with a Blu-ray and DVD release through Warner Brothers soon after.
