"If God is for us, who can be against us? [...] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?
[...] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."
(Romans 8, 31f.)
"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. [...]
If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?" (Luke 6, 27f.)

Since I came a lot into discussing with Muslims, here some reasons why I don't believe in Islam:
1) Muhammad fits perfectly in Jesus' description of false prophets (Mt 7, 15f.) - he did a lot of very bad things, like raidings, murder, slave trade, mass execution, torture, allowed his soldiers to rape...
Just look at what happened to Safiyya's parents, her brothers and her husband.
As one out of countless examples.
Still, Muslims consider him to be the perfect role model of the perfect religion.
2) Jesus said the claim that he would not die - the very claim the Quran holds - is satanic in origin. (Mt 16, 23)
3) The Sura-like-it thing. Even I could produce a Sura-like-it, at least in my language and English. Proof: Just read Sura 108 and ask yourself if you could'nt possibly do that yourself. I could write something better...
4) Uthman
5) There is absolutely no reason to believe Jesus didn't die. All early evidence (and common sense, looking at his followers who died for his message) says he did.
6) The Quran's and Muhammad's rules totally sound like something you would expect from a 7th-century warlord (amputating hands, lashing...), not like the perfect and literal word of God for all time.
7) The Quran legalizes adultery - as long as you "only" do it with slave girls - in Sura 4:24. Direct contrast to "Prophet" Isa and the Torah.
8) Muslims seem to have made an art out of rejecting their own sources when it comes to bad things Muhammad did or ordered. Still, you have everything I wrote above well-proven in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim (which I consider to be a far better historical source than the Quran) alone. If you go to sources like Tabari also, it gets even far worse.
And seriously: the people who wrote these early sources loved their prophet. They were not very likely to invent bad things about him, were they.
9) The sun just doesn't go down in a lake of water. And the trinity doesn't consist of Father, Son and Mary. As the Quran says. Only two examples.
10) All in all, the Quran abrogates and rejects exactly the things Jesus said and made clear are the most important about him. Make your own conclusion...
11) All the great reasons to be a Christian.
-------------------------------------------
All most Muslims basically answer to stuff like this is:
1) You lie. (Well, eh, no, I just quote the best Muslim sources...)
2) The early Muslim sources lie, because Muhammad was a good man and would never have done anything like this (at the same time, they accept all the good stories from the same sources).
3) Muhammad only defended himself against the evil pagans/Jews/whatever who all wanted to kill him (well, killing unarmed war prisoners by hundreds - all males from about 14 years on - doesn't look too much like self-defense...torturing people to get money also doesn't)
4) Look at your own bible! (My last and best relevation - Jesus - tells me to love everyone. In addition, would it make Muhammad any better?)
5) Look at what the Christians (that most time is the whole western world, to not make the "good-evil"-thing too complicated) are doing in our countries! (First, there are thousands of Muslims in the US Army. Still, violence is never Christian - so Muslims compare what Muhammad did - their perfect role model - to what Christians do or did AGAINST their faith).
6) You only look at the bad things Muhammad did! But he also did a lot of good things!
He did. But if you only look at the good things, you can make absolutely everyone look good. If you only look at the good things, Kim Jong Il might be a great guy....
The bad things matter. They totally do.
If anyone will ever read until here ^^ -thanks for your time, please think about it, gb.
