I am a New Zealander, we are known as Kiwi's. The Kiwi is our National Bird which is primarily nocturnal and is also flightless. We have a phrase though, Kiwi's can fly, because so many of us head off overseas and we can and do make an impact on the world scene, be it as Movie Makers (Peter Jackson) (Andrew Adamson) (martin Campbell) (Jane Campion) (Richard Curtis) (Lee Tamahori) (Andrew Niccol) to name a few..!!

Do I worry about what others think, not really, more I am concerned at their lack of understanding which in reality will only come with life experience. Golden rules are: Be true to yourself, respect the one you love, never betray a friendship, live life, do not take shit from anyone who hasn't earnt the right by first gaining your respect. If you are a male, defend women and children and keep them safe.

BOXING LEGEND Bob "Ruby Robert" Fitzsimmons
In his climb to the top of boxing, Fitzsimmons travelled to Sydney, Australia, and after several years finally made it to the United States. After this long path it did not take long for Fitzsimmons to become a household name in America. First the world middleweight title, then the ultimate, the world heavyweight championship, fell to him. Fitz's win over James J Corbett at Carson City, Nevada, in 1897 is still one of the greatest of all fights, a ring classic, and was watched by such famous personalities as Bat Masterton, Wyatt Earp and some of the wealthiest men in America.

MOTORSPORT
Scott Dixon, Bruce McLaren, Ivan Mauger, Denny Hulme and Hugh Anderson and of course Burt Munro, Munro set numerous land speed records for motorcycles with engines less than 1000 cc at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah in the late 1950s and into the 1960s. His records may never be broken.

NANCY WAKE (THE WHITE MOUSE)
Nancy Wake was the Allies' most decorated servicewoman of WWII, and the Gestapos most-wanted person. They code-named her 'The White Mouse' because of her ability to elude capture. When war broke out she was a young woman married to a Frenchman living in cosmopolitan Marseilles. She became a saboteur, organiser and Resistance fighter who led an army of 7,000 Maquis troops in guerrilla warfare to sabotage the Nazis.
In late April 1944, Nancy Wake and another SOE operative, Major John Farmer, were parachuted into the Auvergne region in central France with orders to locate and organise the bands of Maquis, establish ammunition and arms caches from the nightly parachute drops, and arrange wireless communication with England. Their mission was to organise the Resistance in preparation for the D-Day invasion. The Resistance movement's principal objective was to weaken the German army for a major attack by allied troops. Their targets were German installations, convoys and troops. When dropped over Auvergne Nancy's parachute became stuck in a tree. Her agent said he hoped all trees could bear such beautiful fruit. Nancy told him not to give her 'that French shit'.

There are many many more Kiwi's out there, you may not even realise that they are New Zealanders because Kiwi's tend to be low profile unassuming types.

Our Military have enagaged in just about every conflict that has taken place around the globe, as part of the Western Alliance, Commonwealth, United Nations. Our Service men and women have fought alongside and died with those from the United States of America, Britain, Australia, Canada and many many more. We will always assist these Nations against Terror, Fascism, and those who would seek to deprive people of their freedom and liberty regardless of where they may be.

We are very proud of our Heritage and Culture which is a pairing of British and Maori Ancestory that combined to give us our unique New Zealand perspective. We are a multi-cultural Nation and embrace all aspects of others culture and lifestyle whilst retaining our own identity.

Rugby Union is our National Sport. The NZ All Blacks are our pinnacle Representative team who are admired the world over. New Zealanders also play just about every other sport ever created and have been instrumental in creating ideas such as Bungy Jumping, Jet Boating..yes we created the Jet Boat.

We live on three Islands, North, South and Stewart Islands. All are surrounded by the sea which is why we are so mad on water sports. We have Natural Bush on our doorsteps throughout the land, you would be no more than 15 minutes travel in any direction to Forests, Reserves, Lakes, Parks and the Ocean and so on.
