About this user
My car has been proven to be unreliable and undependable.
July 31st, 2006 -- I purchased my 2006 VW Jetta TDI from the Momentum Volkswagen dealership in Houston.
August 1st, 2007 -- My car doesn't start, but turns over. I didn't drive it the day before and I'm trying to start it in the afternoon. The car has to be towed to the dealership where it was purchased. An hour and a half later the tow truck driver arrives and tries to start the car with no result.
August 3, 2007 -- I am accused of putting contaminated diesel in my car by Momentum. They say it will be over $450 to work on my car, so they can flush everything out and replace the fuel filter. I am told that the fuel looked like lemonade and they would show me a sample of the fuel when I pick up my car. However, my car drove at least 200 miles with that fuel prior to being towed.
August 4, 2007 -- I pay the $450+ and get my car back from Momentum. The dealership claims they threw away the sample of the fuel.
August 6, 2007 -- My car turns over but refuses to start again. I drove it all weekend and the first time I try to start it on Monday is in the afternoon. The tow truck driver tries to start the car again an hour and a half later and gets no result. The car is towed back to Momentum. It costs me $72 for the tow.
August 7 -- August 11 -- I never receive a phone call from the VW dealership to tell me the status of my car. I call five times, left three messages and get put on indefinite hold twice. None of my calls were returned.
August 13, 2007 -- I finally get a real person to talk to at Momentum. They tell me I should be able to pick up my car soon since it is starting fine and they replaced the fuel filter again. It's only been approximately 300 miles since the last filter change.
August 15, 2007 -- Momentum calls me to come and pick up my car. A few hours later they call to tell me that my car won't start again and they are going to replace the fuel pump.
August 18, 2007 -- I pick up my car. Momentum says the car should be working now.
August 24, 2007 -- My car gets towed in again for not starting. This time it goes to the Clear Lake VW dealership. The car also doesn't start for the tow truck guy. He arrived an hour after I first tried. I'm late to work and my mother comes to take me to school. I'm a first grade teacher so I need to be in early.
September 5, 2007 -- I pick up my car.
September 6, 2007 -- My car gets towed for not starting again. I'm also late to work again. My dad comes to take care of my car and to wait for the tow truck driver. He tries to start the car an hour after my initial try and gets no result. The tow truck driver is unable to start the car 3 hours after my initial try to start the car. The VW dealership is unable to start the car upon arrival.
September 21, 2007 - I pick up my car after the ECM and intake flap are replaced by the dealership.
September 22, 2007 -- I try to start my car at 10am. I make phone calls to VW stating my car won't start again. I try to start my car every 15 minutes. It takes over 45 minutes to start my car. I drive my car back to the VW dealership.
