To braid the permanent cordage, twist one strand clockwise in between your fingers then wrap it counter-clockwise aroud the other strand and repeat. Just made some the other day with yucca leaves.

replace the folding saw with a pocket chainsaw. It can cut through a 4 inch branch in about 10 seconds with little effort, plus it weighs less and is more compact. Great vid.

Could you tie that rat trap off to a sapling and locking system so that predators dont get to them or would the animal fall off?

@rjken1983 Get a book from your local conservation department, it will most likely tell you everything you need to know about native trees in your area. I have one called "Trees of Missouri" by Don Kurz.
