I feel like music and art are the only way I can really effectively articulate what I'm thinking. They are my therapy. They keep the pills away and the voices tame.

I'm gay, yes. Some musicians who are gay don't want to be known for being a "gay musician." I don't care one way or another. I'm proud of my sexuality, but I agree with them in that it doesn't define me.

I grew up in a very conservative Born-Again-Baptist regime. I respect other people's religions and views on God and spirituality, but as for myself--I've seen religion do much more damage than good in the world. I have accordingly distanced myself from human attempts to define and label God; not from God.

I live in Philadelphia. I'm 28. I'm Matt.
