Matt Corbin is a unique artist whose music is as eclectic as his influences. The first-born "son of a preacherman", he grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina listening to everything from Johnny Cash to Led Zeppelin. Matt inherited the music gene from both parents and was playing both drums and guitar before entering his teens. By high school he was writing music and fronting his own band. Throughout the 90's he shared the stage with international music sensation Hootie and the Blowfish as well as regional hit makers Cravin' Melon and Kevn Kinney of Drivin' n' Cryin'. A true lover of words, his music is a marriage of picture painting lyrics and an unusual, rhythmic sytle of acoustic rock. When listening to Matt, you are just as likely to hear a bluegrass lick as a run reminiscent of the 80's guitar gods. He pays tribute to the heroes of songwriting with sincerity and simplicity. His shows are capitvating and fast-moving. Whether Matt is singing the crowd's favorites covers or performing his own original works, everyone leaves thoroughly impressed and entertained.
