About Me:

« Incroyable », « impressionnant », « j'en reste sans voix »... Voici quelques-uns des nombreux commentaires laissés sur le site YouTube par les internautes ayant visionné les vidéos « Beatboxing Flutes Loops », publiées par Mathieu Schneider. Sur ces enregistrements renversants, on découvre le flûtiste qui, à l'aide d'un « looper », s'enregistre en temps réel puis rejoue sur ses propres boucles. Couche après couche, il se transforme ainsi en un ensemble de flûtes à lui tout seul. Voire en un orchestre entier, puisqu'avec sa seule flûte, il est capable d'imiter à merveille une basse ou un set de percussions.

Si Mathieu Schneider possède un solide bagage classique, il l'a transcendé au profit d'un style résolument personnel et original. Grâce à un jeu très rythmique ainsi qu'aux effets de voix, cet improvisateur hors pair propose une approche plutôt « musclée » de l'instrument, qui tranche avec les joliesses souvent reprochées aux flûtistes de jazz.
