The Matakanui Men's Choir was formed in 1958. Since our inception we have been dedicated to the art of singing in the tradition of Welsh Male Choirs, but in the valley's of Central Otago rather than Wales.

Our Beginnings
The Matakanui Men's Choir was formed in 1958 when a group of Central Otago men decided to establish an organized structure within which they could pursue their shared joy of singing. The idea originated during an extended session at the Chatto Creek Hotel.
