Gastric Bypass Journey
About Me:

I am a 29 year old happily married Massage Therapist. I am journaling my journey with Gastric Bypass surgery, and also the next step.. Plastics!

I hope you find this journal helpful.

My beginning weight was 305, On day of surgery I was 299.6

This channel is how I share MY experience with Gastric Bypass Surgery. I choose to be positive in life and in the changes that happen as a result of the surgery. I suggest you take my story as an example of how life can be post-op. Healthy, happy, and full of joy.

I dug myself into a hole, the surgery was merely a tool to climb out.

Hi Amelia, I've just started watching your video's tonight, they are great, very informative. My doctor just told me today that I will need to have the surgery done, so here I am researching.

quinoa is great if you cook it like you would risotto rice. start with onions or shallots, cook them until they are glassy and then add the quinoa and stir it all together for a couple minutes. add a little white wine to deglaze the pot then start to slowly add the water or stock as you would with risotto. halfway through cooking add, eggplant, pine nuts, pumpkin, mushrooms, or asparagus etc. its great. you can make any flavour risotto.

Hi Amelia, I'm having the surgery done on 11-24-09 and I just watched a few before and a few after videos that you made. Thank you! You are truly a help and inspiration to others who are thinking about or having gastric bypass surgery. You have definitely quelled a lot of my anxiety over this coming surgery. And you look great Amelia thanks again I will be stopping back again soon.

Hi Amelia - You couldn't know how much you mean to us out here. I am just starting my journey and have my appointment with the surgeon on Nov. 5th. I am beside myself with absolute terror. I'm finding comfort in your open and frank videos. Thank you hon, thank you for doing this.

Amelia,

I am considering the RNY surgery and you seem to be one of the veterans of the RNY. I dont know how else to ask this questions but to come out and just ask. I have read that there is a problem with uncontrollable gas/flatulence is this true for you? I understand the problem with the odor, but my concern comes from being in meeting all day and not be able to control passing gas.
