About this user
Marv-ill Superlungs is a new breed of beatboxer. Known for his
power and originality, Marv can make a rig shake like no other
with his powerful bass, drums and melodies and can make any
crowd scream and shout on cue. With 11 years of beatboxing
experience and after competing as a UK Beatbox finalist in
2011, he is at the top level of beatboxing in the world and is
hoping to improve on this by competing again in this years
regional contest.
Marv-ill is also know for being the "Beatboxing MC" and is one
of only a few people in the world to be able to beatbox and
rap at a very high level and is even able to do both at the same
time. He combines these skills with his knowledge of music
production and his looping equipment to create a full show
where all beats are made live in front of the audience. Marv-ill
then adds his own hard hitting lyrics, literally being the modern
version of a "One Man Band". He has made one promotional
release, The Big Mouth Promo, which showcases a variety of
Marv's skills and can be downloaded for free here.
Marv-ill is currently finishing off his first mixtape "Limitless"
which mainly showcases his rapping skills, but also has a few
beatbox elements included. Inspired by the film of the same
name, this mixtape tells the story of the potential of humanity
and the terrible state modern poilitics has left our planet in.
The mixtape will be released in March.
The future is bright for Marv, with several releases including
two EPs and his debut album planned for this year as well as
collaborations with emerging and established artists. With
many shows in circulation and development, such as Beatbox/
Opera collaborations, Beatbox Collectives, Beatbox Theatre,
Solo Beatboxing and Beatbox/Rap Loop Shows, he has shown
he can put on amazing crowd pleasing shows for all types of
events and audiences.
Marv is also a dedicated and professional workshop leader
and mentor, working with schools and youth organisations to
deliver beatbox and rap workshops of the highest standard.
He focuses on making these workshops fun, challenging and
educational. The workshops help with creativity, confidence
and teamwork as well as an alternative view on music theory
and practicality.
