The choral from 3:28... perfection, what a sound, and what a control! Hearing this version for the first time I got tears in my eyes, even though I heard many Mahlers 3 before.

I am dutch, and a big fan of the RCO, also because 3 of my former teachers played there. I think the RCO with or without Haitink playing Mahler is world class almost every time, but this performance is below their normal (=incredibly high) standard in my opinion. I was there when he performed this in the Concertgebouw (his solo debute with the RCO). I just played trombone at that time, so it was a great introduction to the trombone for me.

Great piece! I played this piece a few times (trombone) and it is a piece that asks for very good playing skills from the players (breath, sound color, intonation, dynamics), even it sounds easy when you listen it.

Besides that, this is an extremely good recording, so thanks for posting!

Ofcourse everybody is free to post video's about whatever he or she likes. But this guy is 'starring' in a video by 'Expertvillage'. That suggests that he is an 'expert' and knows 'how to...'. Anyone who has a little knowledge about brassplaying, can hear immediately that this guy is anything but...

Here in The Netherlands we cannot control wether they make it to the final or not, but anyhow we can be proud of 3J's and their song! Great musicians, great music!

I performed together with Michelle, that was one year before the songcontest. We both studied in the Amsterdam School of the Arts at the time. She is a very nice girl and a pure singer. I am still proud of her achievement and I remember this song as one of the best dutch Eurovision songs ever.

Very nice! Classic Eurovision style. Feels good listening this, but I also have to say that it misses that little originality and tension that is necesssary for this kind of 'song-type of songs' to really win the competition. Perhaps it is a little too easy listening this song. In my opinion B...

Although I like Zubin Mehta's tempi best, I really admire this version. Boulez lets the orchestra play and seems to simply do what is necessary to manage the orchestral sound, balance and timing... and the orchestra sounds great (especially the trumpets)!

Very nice performance! I played this piece myself (trombone1) and I know how tough it is (physically) to play... I think it was a good choice of the conductor to let the trps/trbs stand up at the end, so that they didn't have to force to be heard.

Sounds like Joseph Alessi. I think it should be him.

This sackbut virtuosity of Mr . Lassalle makes this video one of the best trombone videos on youtube. Bravo!

Very nice performance! Many youth bands play this, but not so many are able to really give it the warm sound that it needs, to do more than just playing the notes. Compliments to the conductor!

This guy needs some trombone lessons urgently, before he creates more damage to his lips, his throat (you can hear it), his tongue, his lungs, and - last but not least - to people who follow his advices.

It would have been better if expertvillage looked for a trombone-EXPERT to shoot this tromb...
