@constantagrup Besides, what they do is purely for concerts and music videos. I saw them last week in Manchester, and they are not like that in real life, and, like you, I am a fan of them, and enjoy their music, unlike some people (who are probably Justin Bieber fans), if you know what I mean.

David Mallett did a song called The Ballad Of Saint Anne's Reel, which has the instrumental bit in. As for where it comes from, I'd point my finger towards Ireland, cause it sounds like an Irish tune (all that's missing is a bodhran)

@pascalwify It's not the instrument that's hard, but the type of pickin' (or strummin') that you want to use. The banjo can be played either by frailing or by clawhammer, and frailing is a right pain compared to clawhammer (I know that for a fact)
