I am a 45 year old man who dislikes bigotry and prejudice of any kind.
I enjoy discussing all subjects at depth with people who have some intelligence and learning, especially if they have some wit and humour too, although these are not required.
I am a trained Fine Artist but have also studied Artificial Intelligence, for which I also have Academic honours, I have expertise in the field of a interactive intelligent agents which I have designed for use in web communities.
Genius is the cartographer who is also an explorer. It is by combining our skills that we may find gifts of novelty and insight.
I have run my own businesses and have also taught at college level.
although I have also 'temped' in warehouses and moved boxes around with the best of them in between my studies..
For a spell, I worked as a club decorator, which is where I discovered my love of unusual music of all kinds. However in recent years my activities have centred on my first love, programming and making things with code.
A number of years ago I was involved in the setting up a 3d virtual web community, being a founder, part owner and then one of the architects and management team. l contributed code, ideas and by making worlds.
I am one of the generation who saw the first computers in people's homes.
A good friend decided to give me his ZX 81, it was on this that I began to move numbers around, at first with machine code although I have had occasion to work with many most computer languages since.
At that time not many people had computers, and even those who did, rarely dabbled with their inner workings.
I have made whole worlds from code, I generally abandon helper objects to fall back onto my own functions.
I have made birds which followed me around, people, animals, robots, clouds would rain on my command, rainbows which would appear when someone called thier name. interpolators and timers, imaginary points which yield landscapes,
Infinite worlds made from Perlin noise, trees and flowers which grew from fractal iterative forms and used numbers for their for their seeds taken from the land in which they grew,
I like making worlds to explore ideas with, for instance a galactic sail; an island of rock, falling through space on top of which was a telescope, through this one could view the heavens around.
dials and pressing buttons allowed the viewing of asteroids and other bodies, stars could be magnified, there were even ufos and a comet with Elvis still singing and playing his guitar standing on it, clothed in a white rhinestone jumpsuit; out there somewhere if one could find it .
The rock was a large mountain, it had a spiral road from a small space-port at the base, the only two cars for billions and billions of miles took one to the observatory above, all within a giant glass sphere, and yet this was but a dot in the vast emptiness which lay around.. protruding from the bottom of the glass clad mountain was a mast, it was attached to a mini black-hole so that there would be some gravity too.
Tied to the mast, by thin ropes of carbon nano wire was hundreds of thousands of kilometres long, was a gossamer thin sail.. everything was to scales calculated for the required acceleration of just a few thousandths of a G.
The sail faced on the opposite side of the rock, a galaxy of stars against empty black, gently unfolding it's seemingly motionless spiral which occupied most of one side of the visual field,

My aesthetic is for the ordinary. as things are or as they could be.
Be it a flower or a room full of happy people.
The moment of now is where all real values actually are, if we cannot find what we want in now, then we will never be able to find it.
Nothing need ever be raised up to have grace.
I fell from a horse once, my helmet having struck a branch at a gallop near a wood where rode, as I lay bruised and winded I remember thinking how beautiful a blade of grass was, just inches from my eyes where it grew; Cold sun and sky colour upon it's tiny little hairs.
I like ideas and I have no time for invention or cleverness of any kind.
there is no need for this, it is enough for things to be themselves. if people seek to understand anything at all then they join me in trying to understand things too.
My greatest joy is in discovering how little I know, for this means worlds yet to discover.
If I am ever at fault, then I have not contrived to be so.
My politics are left field, tempered by Gandhi's reasoning that in reason is light and hope.
I put put no blame on a branch for growing where it may, any more than a on a blade of grass, standing on a cold November day.
