-My name is Mark, I'm a musician/singer/songwriter from Houston,Texas. I've been on the music scene for a while playing in bands and as a solo artist in and around Houston. I've toured Texas and the west coast a couple of times, been in the studio many times for various projects, worked at a record label/ recording studio called Cherry Records/ SoundMasters Recording for a couple of years doing everything from sweeping floors to working sessions It was a killer learning experience. I've also recorded music for radio and television advertisements, and currently have a song on the radio in the Netherlands and various small cities in Europe. Currently I'm working on writing new material, playing solo gigs, and putting together a band.
Other than that, I'll be uploading a boatload of original & cover material soon. I'll also be adding show dates as I go along.

-About the cover songs: I learn everything by ear (usually from memory) without the use of tab or repeated listening. It sometimes takes a little longer to learn but it's easier and more fun for me that way. It also helps me to connect with the song more because I get to work the song from the inside out, and the end result is usually a fairly close representation of the music while allowing me to put a little of myself in there. Especially on solo acoustic performances, I like to find the best way to present a song for it's best impact, and sometimes to copy the guitar part as it was recorded doesn't give you the full picture, so I'll add bass and melodic/ rhythmic subtleties to help get it across (I hope!-lol!).
