About this user
I am a Christian, who was saved by the grace of God. My sins were vicariously atoned for by the shedding of the blood of Christ on the cross. Apart from the Grace of God, my salvation is derived by the acknowledgement of my sins, my need of a savior and my faith in the ability of Christ to save me from my sins.
Because of this, when God looks down at my heart for the judgment of my eternal life, He does not see my past sins, He does not see my future sins, and he does not look at the fumbling of my useless attempt at righteousness. When God looks at my heart He sees the perfect righteous life of Christ. He has accepted the blood of His son as the final judgment of my sin. Therefore, I am declared and accepted as righteous. And from this I am eternally assured of my salvation and rest in the verdict of the last judgment.
My life with Christ does not stop there for I am opened to a mortal lifetime of blessing with Him, where I attempt to adhere to the Laws of Christ as a New Testament Christian. The Grace of God does not stop as salvation. For with my multitude of failures in my Christian walk, I have a wellspring of compassion afforded to me in forgiveness.
The two most vivid examples of this Grace are the woman caught in adultery and the penitent thief on the cross. Justly deserving the judgment of the Law, instead they received the gracious forgiveness of Christ.
The thief exemplifies the simplicity of salvation. Anything added to this salvation is superfluous.
My background is Baptist. However there are Brothers in faith from many denominations. I have no formal theological education. I do have some letters behind my name in another vocation. I prefer the KJV. Although, any translation, no matter how poor, is the word of God unto salvation.
I enjoy serious and courteous theological banter regarding theology, and would welcome a conversation with you.
