no need to apoligize, we live in a country where we should have healthy debates. Regardless if it becomes legal which again i truly hope it does but i work with teens and it will still remain against the law for them. I can care less what an adult wants to do with his life but even marijuana will take away a passion for child. I gave up a career in skatebaording back i the early 90's because i would rather sit in a friends basement and get high. I simply believe that the pro marijuana movement should disuade our teens from use until they finish their education, secure a career and become a responcible adult before they choose to relax with a joint.

Yes i have had teens come into my office due to the loss of control of their lives behind the use of marijuana and yes i have had cases wher they have gone to extremes such as that. Believe me i do agree with the legalization of marijuana because it is far less problematic then other drugs however it is still a damaging substance especially for the developing brains of our youth. The prob. that i have is all the hype about how it is not damaging at all and i know for a fact that it can open the doors to other drugs simply by the new associations of the culture (drug). Now im not about using drugs as a scapegoat for it is the person that is the problem. But there has to be education. There is no evidenced medical need for marijuana as ther is for opiates. So why shouldnt heroin be legalized???

as an economist i need to think in extremes. why was cannabis made illegal roughly 80 years ago? how old is the earth? how did the innocent yet extremely beneficial hemp plant get caught up in all of this? can our BEN FRANKLIN $$'s continue to pay for this war on these two plants and the responsible humans that consume them into perpetuity? NO. the time is now to end the war...throughout the AMERICAS and then rapidly throughout EARTH.
