Maria Staump is a Composer, Arranger, Music Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist, and the Director of Music Education for Staump Music School. She is a strong believer in the importance of music education and personally instructs over seventy private students monthly. She teaches piano, guitar, voice, violin, viola, trumpet, and trombone. Maria is the Founder and Director of the East County Youth Guitar Ensemble. This classically trained ensemble has performed with the Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble and Conductor Fred Benedetti. Maria is a director for Staump Music School's Rock University Program. Rock University is a highly disciplined group of young musicians that rehearse and perform on a weekly basis with the ultimate goal of achieving constant growth. Rock U has performed throughout San Diego and most recently at the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood Ca. Maria has several students who she has recorded and published on iTunes, as well as other online retailers. Maria has instructed and volunteered for many music programs in East County, and currently provides instruction on piano to the third and fourth graders of Lakeview Elementary School in Lakeside, Ca. Staump Music School is providing free music classes for the youth of East County
Maria Staump is a diverse composer. She writes in a wide range of genres, from singer-songwriter to flamenco. In February of 2008, she released her first instrumental album, Mi Vida Bonita. She has digitally released three singles: Just a Dreamer, High, and Dia Feliz, she is currently recording her Break the Box album. She was one of the 1000 picked from over 400,000 independent artists on Reverbnation.com to participate in a Microsoft giveaway. Her single, "Mi Vida Bonita," was downloaded over 1200 times during the 3 month period. Maria also wrote a jingle that was selected by Microsoft, and her video was featured on their Youtube's front page. She has arranged music for various community organizations, and has had several compositions performed by the Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble.
Maria is the Music Producer for several new artists. In 2012 she is in the studio for four different EP's and one demo. She is also producing her own album, Break the Box. Maria received her degree in music from Grossmont College. She has studied with pianist Steve Baker, vocalist and conductor Dr. Randall Tweed, and guitarists' George Svoboda, and Fred Benedetti.
