Born: Antwerp Belgium. Very young influence, my uncle Johnny Remo a night club singer / recording artist. Moved to Melbourne ( Australia ) with my parents when I was 11 yrs old. Beatlemania hit town. Travelled around Australia, settled in Darwin. Linked up with my aboriginal brother Robert Cottle and formed a band "Crystal"(..Playing Bass Guitar..) aged 15, did the hotel circuit @ age 17 too young to drink (21 legal age).. Entered the Hoadleys "Battle of the sounds", ended up on the front page of the Northern Territory newspaper, really got the music bug then. Vietnam conscription started in Australia, so I returned to Belgium to do national service as a conscientious objector & also became a vegetarian. Did Christmas concert (solo) for the troops stationed in Germany. Returned to Melbourne to a vibrant music scene . Formed " Lifetime" original 3 piece band, with a 16 yr old virtuoso lead guitarist, (Chris Jones later to play in ..Mondo Rock..) Started the Middle Park Hotel band gig & played loud & heavy on the university circuit. During this time also had a commercial band & did an Australian / Italian "Gianni Morandi" tour backing a very young ..Tina Arena.. @ the Sydney Opera house. Joined the "Sinclair Brothers" band, recorded "Two Moons" Album with Festival records. Appeared on ..Countdown.. and toured as support with ..Don McLean.. around Australia. Played solo at a function for the then Prime Minister ..Bob Hawke... Next joined "Shaun and the fiddler", (A working band / 6 nights a week) who were managed by ..Terry Blamey.. ..(Kylie Minogue's.. manager) Met her @ an industry party. (Early days for Kylie just released " Locomotion", very young and sweet) Played with Tom Fitzgerald (ex Melb. Symphony Orchestra virtuoso violinist ). Were regulars on "..Shirl's Neighbourhood.." on Channel 7. Did the VFL week celebrations @ the City Square, the 100 year anniversary concert for the Melbourne Exibition Buildings & the Victoria Ski Club @ Mt. Bulla with ..Shirl.. (ex ..Skyhooks..) jumping up on stage to sing. Switched to my solo career & finally playing my vast list of original compositions. Currently working with ..Dr.Tom Fitzgerald.. on "Peacesong Tapestries" ( A SBS Radio / Multimedia program to promote peace through music amongst our youth).
