@rbscholtus We currently only offer the course in English. We get a lot of bilingual kids coming to Stellenbosch, but many tutors can speak their preferred language (Afrikaans). We are considering translating options.
Follow-up is discussed in the talk. We're busy working on a plan.

@anthonzi These courses are run on a very low budget. With flying volunteers around next year and writing new course notes and purchasing startup equipment, we're achieving $30 per kid. Hiring computers will explode that cost.
We do take all serious feedback seriously though, and so this has alr...

@rkempey We expected to see this when we grew to 100 kids. We do get the odd kid who calls programming "a huge migrane", but they're a lot rarer than you would expect. @DjChronokun I'm not going to be able to convince you, programmers are just too fixated on what they love/hate, but all experiences I've had teaching it have been amazing. Besides the kids who've come from a bit of VB background just wanting their GUI editor and the kid who's father never heard o...

@fatkasuvayu We got sponsored USB sticks for the first time at the last course. They cost nearly as much as all the other costs combined. And since we're already introducing them to something so foreign (programming), adding Linux would just make it worse. In the past we've run follow-up classes ...
