About this user
Father of two. Living in an archetypal English village, with thatched roofs, a green, two pubs (one thatched)... and 300 village idiots.
The background picture is the path down to Arncliffe from Litton, Yorkshire Dales. I'd just walked over from the Queen's Arms, Litton, heading for The Falcon, at Arncliffe.
I'm currently a Yorkshire exile in Cambridgeshire - which isn't a patch on my home county (the countryside is as flat as a kipper's tit) but there are some very attractive villages.
You can take a man out of Yorkshire: but you can't take Yorkshire out of the man!! (North Country proverb.)
You can tell a Yorkshireman! But you can't tell him much! (Lancastrian insult. A smattering of truth, in my opinion)
