PRESENTS ITS NEW COLLECTION FOR THE SPRING/SUMMER SEASON 09
We presented the new trends for the Spring/Summer season 09 in the Pabellón Italiano on Montjuïc mountain, Barcelona. A Playground of dreams is the name given to the collection, which has ranges for both men and women for the coming season. The collection, inspired by nature and the modern landscape, creates innovative, architectural, urban, clean-cut silhouettes, in which masculine clothes are of major importance, combined with lines that are clearly inspired by the eighties. This season, trousers are the key garment, and they will dominate the looks of the season, with high waists and as carrot pants. Watery blues, pure whites, flesh tones, grey shadows and mother-of-pearl pinks are combined with fluorescent tones of lime green, orange and pink.
For daytime wear, voluminous silhouettes are seen in exaggerated sleeves, wrap-around items, trousers and pinafores. Elsewhere, rectangular and oversized lines stand out in mini-dresses, tops and flowing suit jackets. For night time, the influence of the eighties is clear in one-shoulder mini-dresses and strapless necklines (in pastel pinks or in vibrant tones of orange and blue) combined with accessories with a touch of fluorescent colour. We also have a line for men again this season. The new HE by MANGO collection is based around a very urban, casual look inspired by the modern dandy. Clean-cut shorts stand out, combined with suit jackets or waistcoats, wrinkled check shirts and polo shirts. The collection, which spans some 50 models, reinterprets classic elements of the male wardrobe while paying close attention to every detail, such as the washes and dyes of the garments. Shades of blue are an important part of the colour palette, as are greys and whites, with acid touches of lime, orange, electric blue and pink, sometimes decorated with checks and stripes. Our limited edition collections are back next season too. Penélope & Mónica Cruz for MNG is a collection with a clear Japanese influence in the shapes and the prints. Flowing, wrap-around garments such as the kimono or printed pinafores, in which the sisters' particular taste for all things vintage is clear, stand out. These are accompanied by 1970s-style suits and sexy mini-dresses for those special occasions. Sandrina Fasoli, one half of the winning duo of the first El Botón-MANGO Fashion Awards, presents the collection that she has designed for the brand, in which her unique, innocent take on femininity is on display. Sandrina Fasoli for MANGO consists of 11 very feminine items in which pastel colours such as lavender, antique rose and mist mixed with black are the main tones. Baggy silhouettes stand out, given movement by gathers and folds in very light fabrics such as silk and chiffon, together with garments that play with elements of the traditional smoking jacket, and asymmetrical shapes.
The renowned U.S. designer Adam Lippes has also created two collections for men and women, each consisting of around 20 models which are clearly inspired by the 1970s look. For women, with the label Adam for MANGO the designer presents a very urban collection that combines elements for the daytime and for special occasions, with a touch of the Halston look, long dresses, hand-printed patterns with irregular finishes, degradé stripes with sequins, and sack and wrap-around shapes.
Adam for HE, designed with a nod to New York style, consists of versatile garments with a mixture of classic and sports styles, in which timeless fabrics and tight fits with clean cuts are the predominant look, with particular interest in details on linen, cotton and fine wool knits. The line includes a "Prince of Wales" suit in shades of grey, printed shirts and leather jackets. The colours that form the basis of the collection are blues and greys with touches of intense yellow, stone and purple. There is a new appearance this season from Sweet MNG, our new lingerie line. A luxurious, elegant collection of 18 garments and accessories made from natural fibres such as silk and cotton, in colours such as apricot, lemon, coral and salmon, with floral prints. Lastly, the Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad continues his collaboration with MANGO with a collection exclusively designed for the Arab countries. In his characteristic style, Zuhair Murad makes use of semi-transparent fabrics, details such as embroidered cuffs, sequins and elaborate floral motifs in his glamorous garments, and uses hippy elements in his jewellery line.

WE PRESENT OUR NEW FLAGSHIP STORE IN SHANGHAI, ON THE MOST POPULAR PEDESTRIAN STREET IN THE CITY
Last Thursday night, on 12th March, we presented our flagship store on the bustling Nanjing Road. Not only is it the most popular shopping street in Shanghai, it is in fact the worlds busiest shopping street and has been the centre of commerce in Shanghai for more than a century.
Isak Halfon, MANGOs Expansion Director and Associate Partner, who hosted the event, declared: We are very proud to be able to open this flagship store here in Shanghai. China is a very important market for MANGO.
The evening was not to be missed by the most important faces in Shanghais fashion and social circles, who were present at the event. Crowds gathered outside the store to watch invited guests such as Antonio Segura, Spanish Consul General in Shanghai, Taiwanese TV host Wu Pei Ci and top Chinese fashion model Shi Zhou Liang. Also present were many of the major Shanghai and Beijing media corporations and key members of the Spanish media who were given a sneak preview of the new store.
Wu Pei Ci, dressed in MANGO for the occasion, opened the ceremony declaring that MANGO means fashion and this is what we want to share with you today, in this nice environment and making sure that you enjoy the party together with us. Shi Zhou Liang, dressed in an outfit from our Spring/Summer 09 collection, explained that MANGO is full of sunshine and energy. It brings Spains local characteristics to Shanghai.
Special guest DJ Ben Huang supplied music throughout the store as guests enjoyed MANGO cocktails created especially for the occasion. During the sneak preview, several models showed off the most elegant MANGO outfits for the current Spring/Summer 09 season.
Following the store opening party, elite VIP guests gathered in the new Park Hyatt private dining area located on the 93rd floor of the brand-new, world-renowned Shanghai World Financial Center, the highest tower in China. In a sumptuous private dining hall, a fabulous dinner was served and our special guests had the opportunity to enjoy spectacular views over the Pudong and Puxi skyline.
The new flagship store is over 700 m2 and is located in the shopping mall Plaza 353 that was originally constructed in the 1930s to house important public offices. The mall is located on the citys main avenue, Nanjing Road. Recently restored in order to conserve its unique Art Déco architecture, the building is an emblematic location of great cultural significance in Shanghai.
After opening this store, we have also opened a corporate store at Shanghais Super Brand Mall, in the heart of the booming Pudong business district.
