The Wifi signals get excited as the news spreads from the highest buildings in the largest megapolises of the world...

BIOGRAPHY

Mak Murtic Ensemble was formed in 2010 by Croatian composer and saxophonist Mak Murtic. Soon after its formation the ensemble brought to life Mak Murtic's compositions and arrangements in the form of a groove-based suite: "From Scratch to Structure".

"From Scratch to Structure" is centred on themes from cultural developments of human species through time and space. It is a journey through man's cultural evolution, his achievements and failures. The suite is composed of eight movements, each representing a major change in the story of human cultural development: shaping of the language, migration, civilised settlement and isolated groups, the rise of agriculture, appearance of writing, colonisation, urbanisation and the current interwoven world.

Later on (Summer 2011) the ensemble premiered a new suite entitled "A Place Glowing a Brilliant Red" about exploration and colonization of planet Mars, about our prospects as a civilization and the future of interculturalism.

The show also casts a Contemporary Dancer who mimics the storyline (hence the name MIMIKA).

The debut CD has been recorded but we are still waiting to issue it.
