This YouTube channel is dedicated to raising awareness for child soldiers all around the world. Child soldiers are most common in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Over 300,000 boys and girls as young as seven years of age are currently fighting in the 32 conflicts that are raging around the world today. The boys are mainly the ones who are engaged in combat; they aren't trained and are usually killed soon after being abducted by the armies. Often times they are forced to watch their best friends and siblings being killed, and even more often they are forced to kill them themselves. Girls "exploited" by the male combatants, and usually contract an STD or are impregnated. The effects of being a child soldier last fore a lifetime, and effect the children's futures. Many of them use violence in raising their children since they were exposed to so much violence growing up. They also have trouble finding jobs, since they don't get an education and usually can't read or write. They also get Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and can't properly fuction in society. There are some organizations in existance that work to disarm these child soldiers and help them meld back into society. However, they are not enough people aware of the problem for these organizations to really gain enough donations to really make an extremely large effect. The world also needs to come up with strict regulations so that the problem can be stopped before it occurs again. By raising awareness of this problem, we hope to make a same contribution to the effort to end the child soldier problem.
