  Thanks for your comments. The smoke you see is steam that's produced when making pellets. The pressure on the material from the rollers causes pressure and heat and some steam is released. the pellets are hot when they come out of the mill.

  Haven't tried that, but if you can reduce the plants to the right size and moisture level (10-15%), it should work without a binder.
