The team is organized to compete in the FIRST (For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) robotics competition. FIRST is an international organization that organizes regional competitions and national competitions. It is a non-profit educational organization that gives students hands-on experience solving real world problems. Students work with industry, community sponsors and parents to brainstorm, design, build, test and compete with their robots. The process inspires students to learn more about science, math and technology and to develop an enthusiasm for further studies in engineering, the sciences, and design.
