Meh. Ha ha, just kidding. I've been in love with this orchestral warhorse for many years. It's almost hilarious in its cinematic melodrama. Respighi was a total master. I'll take him over Rimsky-Korsakov any day of the week.

@Davstrapp It ain't you! It's very tricky - requiring a great deal of left/right coordination. I have noticed in SRV videos that he tends to use a wide circular motion in his right hand/arm to accomplish this. He was a true master. I remember precisely where I was when I heard that he died.

The creatures that appear at 1:00 look precisely as I imagined the "banshees" one hears in the ambient section of "Echoes" might look. I know it's just Gilmour's guitar fed backwards through a wah-wah pedal, but they definitely sound like strange feral creatures on a moonscape.
