I don't know why they don't try this more often instead of just letting time expire. As others have said, there's plenty of videos on Youtube of people hitting 65-75 yard goals. I think it's not that it can't be done, it's just that it isn't attempted often.

The best one isn't in here. There's a video of some guys in Pacman Ghost costumes crashing the field at a high school football game. It's especially funny because they evade the security for so long -- The audience is cheering for them and everything.
