@137Reaper Space marines carries bolters, their bodies geneticaly modified to become super humans and they get exstra organs, they basicly gets shaped in to super humans. And they get fucking power armor as well.

One thing that is intersting with viking shields, they were quite thin and wasnt strapped to the arm but held by a handle of sorts. So when you cutted shield with a sword it could quite quickly get stuck. All the viking would have to do then was to twist the shield and BAM dissarmed.
