Magni Ásgeirsson is an Icelandic singer/musician/songwriter. His album, Magni, has just been released on CD worldwide on Spectra Records. It is his first solo album, his first full-length English-language album, and his first release outside of his native Iceland. Magni first became known outside of Iceland when he competed on the internationally televised music series, Rock Star: Supernova, in the summer of 2006. Out of hundreds of rock singers trying out at selective auditions around the world, Magni was one of just fifteen picked to compete on the show. He distinguished himself with outstanding powerful vocal performances, his musicianship and his rapport with his fellow musicians. Magni was one of four finalists who made it to the show's finale. Although he didn't win on the show, his performances and personality won over viewers around the world and has given him a devoted global fanbase. Fans have traveled across the U.S., Canada and overseas to Iceland for his performances, and tune in on the internet the from around the world to catch him on radio and video.

In addition to his solo work, Magni has been the lead singer for the popular Icelandic band Á Móti Sól for the past ten years, recording six albums with them. He has been a featured and guest vocalist on many projects in Iceland, and he won the Best Male Singer of 2006 award at the FM957 Listener's Awards in Iceland. He is much in demand as a guest vocalist and musician in his home country. He has sung the theme to Lazytown Extra, an offshoot of the popular children's series, Lazytown. His song, When the Time Comes, is featured on the soundtrack of the 2011 film, Emerging Past.

Magni's ability to convey both raw power and vulnerability in near-flawless vocals, as well as his obvious joy in performing, sets him apart - and it's time for more of the world to discover this down-to-earth Icelandic artist.
