I think sickfarm is referencing Lord Krishna--not Shiva. In any case, there's much that can be gleaned from Golden's lyrics.

This is one of Warp 9's best jams. Too bad the one posted here is not the greatest representation of the original recording in terms of sound quality (there are pops and jumps in this). The the original record, sound-wise, is the bomb!

Many of those who follow music identify 1982 as the year that spawned hip hop. Technically, rap goes further back, to the Last Poets, however hip hop styled rap, or modern rap, owes a huge debt to Planet Rock, Nunk, & Al Naafiysh just to name a few groundbreaking records released in 1982. BTW, t...

You can find "Motor-Cycle Michael" the lead song from Lotti Golden's "Motor-Cycle" LP (Atlantic, 1969) on YouTube--recently posted. Very different from this--which is excellent, but for me, Golden's best work is her "Motor-Cycle" album. Very gutsy, musically and lyrically innovative.
