I'm David Westbay(CTUMFanfare) from Youtube. I played trumpet in the U of M Symphony Band under the baton of Dr. Revelli for the '69 -"70 and the "70 - "71 academic years. My position on the European Tour/Carnegie Hall Concert was 1st chair Trumpet and I was chosen by Dr. Revelli to play taps and reveille for the commencement ceremonies at Chrysler Arena. As I am now retired from public school teaching, there is available time to look up old classmates and jump-start many fond memories! During my years at U of M, I was also involved with the orchestras, jazz band, marching band(Fall "70) and sang in the Chamber Choir under the direction of Thomas Hilbish when I spent time as a voice performance major.

It is good to see that individuals like yourself and Richard Alder are keeping those memories alive. Please add me to the roster and website.

maestrojimbo...It looks like we have some things in common. Classical music, and I played the oboe, bassoon, and clarinet in HS and college...also piano and a bit of organ. Sorry, but I am not very sure of exactly how to do things yet. For example: subscribers...who are they , and how did you get so many? It looks like you like many of my favorite performers too. I knew MR. Revelli when he conducted the GREAT Uof M BAnd...Marching band was spectacular! And finally, thanks for the invite. I enjoy many of your contributions. Now I need to learn how to contribute some of my CD and DVD music. again, THANKS!

Nelhybel brought an electric excitment to symphonic bands in the '60's. Great directors, like Revelli, playing Nelhybbel flawlessly, made it spark, always pushing forward. If you played in the band, you always played on the very edge of your seat.
