A Dutchman and the UK has been my home since '77. Since '09 I have been active in the 'Social' Space', providing advice on how to develop a 'Social Media Strategy' and maximise what I call the 'Famous Five' in Social Media. They are; Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Wordpress.
I encourage the use of Corporate Learning Technologies in business and I highly recommend that it's 'Social'. I have researched the market extensively and have found what I know to be the leading 'Social Learning' platform in 'Fuse'.
We all need to take self-responsibility for our own learning and growth, whether in our career or in our private lives. And because of our busy lives, the best way I believe that this is now achieved is broadly online. But it must be engaging and largely video based.
The challenge will always be how to engage individuals in their own learning and inspire them to share their own knowledge with others too. I love a challenge and with possibly the greatest innovation of our times, Social Media, it has never been a better time to use these tools to engage employees in corporate Britain.
Because of my fascination, curiosity and proficiency with IT and the Internet, I keep my own learning in line with market developments and stay in touch with Social Media, Social Learning and Apple products.
About my past: After a colourful career in International Textiles, I became fascinated by Complimentary Alternative Medicine and trained to become a Kinesiologist and learnt about the Mind-Body connection. I launched my own 'Wellness' business in 2007 (Staying Alive). I have kept the business name although my direction has changed and saw that the word 'Alive' conveniently now stands for 'Action Learning In a Virtual Environment'.
