Zombies... or love story? Undead forever after... or happily ever after? Since the dawn of time this quixotic quandary has plagued mankind. And so during one weekend in 2006 a ragtag group of cinematic survivors found themselves stuck in that very same predicament. "Can't we just do both?" they asked, and so they did and it was that last-minute genius juxtaposition that propelled the Mad Ones to the Greensboro 48 Hour Film Project finish line with "Z-Day" in hand

MAD ONES FILMS is a straight jacket-tested, doctor-approved independent filmmaking company located deep in the heart of the Devil's Triad, well... technically the Piedmont Triad, and more specifically, Greensboro, North Carolina... but c'mon, which one sounds cooler? In the five years since that manic movie-making magic weekend, the Mad Ones have produced fifteen short films - illustrating the kaleidoscopic creativity just waiting to be let loose when the inmates finally start to run the cinematic asylum.

And just how, in the name of all that is holy, did these illicit inkhorns of interactive imagery come to be? The genesis of the Mad Ones was the result of the partners-in-crime camaraderie of Jaysen Buterin, J. Evan Wade & Jennie Prince. Always more than the sum of its parts, this creative convergence soon gained the expertise and titillating technical talents of Mikey Cordes, Jesse Knight, the Brothers Vang and other kindred spirits as their madness began to spread.

MAD ONES FILMS specialises in character-focused, dialogue-driven genre-juggling films. Everything from Faustian rock & roll thrillers to supernatural noir, surreal and dark comedies to Zombie Service Announcements, even Shakespearean spaghetti westerns. Time and again the Mad Ones have proven they have a fondness for both the cynical and the sincere, a love for the salacious and the shadows that lurk in the minds and souls of everyone, sinner and saint alike.

As Creative Director, Buterin's silver-tongued sharp-witted scripts range from the hilarious dark comedy running amok in "Z-Day" and the "Zombie Service Announcement" Series, to the underground cult hit thriller and real life regional ghost story, "The Devil's Tramping Ground." "Flipper Stripper Vixens at the Inferno A-Go-Go!!!" is a gritty flashback to the Grindhouse days, while heads were rolling in early 2010 with "The Decapitator," an award-winning bloody homage to the slasher horror goodness of the early 1980s.

Dancing dervishly in the intersection of the profane, the profound, the professional and the prolific, MAD ONES FILMS have worked hard to bring their own askew view of the world to the masses. They've been featured as regular media & film guests at conventions such as ConNooga, ConCarolinas, Zombie Con and MonsterCon. In addition, their films have been official selections at such festivals as the Cape Fear Independent Film Festival and Fright Nights Film Fest.

Buterin and the inmates at MAD ONES FILMS have spent the last two years bringing their latest project of bombastically biblical badass proportions to the big screen. A sin-filled short-film thrill-ride of a trilogy, "The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus" is a life and death love story of revenge, lust, and faith. Based off their award-ignored 2007 short film, this cinematic second coming is part Tarantino, part Twilight Zone, and all Mad Ones! Act I has come and gone while Act III, "Have Faith, Will Travel" will premiere in early 2012. After the HPJ Trilogy, the Mad Ones will embark on the first of many mad feature-length adventures... Hallelujah!
