About this user

I am a singer/songwriter specializing in children's music. My instrument of choice, for performing and composing, is ukulele. I draw inspriation for the dearly departed Bruddah IZ and the children's songwriter beyond compare, Woody Guthrie.

I perform at schools and libraries and festival events. I am dedicated to volunteering and bringing live music into the lives of kids.
I give little mini workshops on songwriting in the schools, encouraging kids to find the music within them and showing them easy techniques and guidelines for writing.
My ukulele lessons are an outgrowth of these convictions as well as a way to offer instruction in these times of education budget cutbacks. That I have reached so many adults is a pleasant surprise and I am delighted to share what I know.

I am a wife, mother and grandmother and very much a family person.

I record on Garage Band, usually playing all the instruments myself. Sometimes I get a little help from my musical family though. I draw on many years of professional musical experience and a classical music education; New England Conservatory of Music and Dalcroze School of Music in New York.

I have recorded 3 cds of childrens music and a 4th is nearing completeion. Over the past few years I have won 3 national awards from Creative Child Magazine, Children's Web Music and The Great American Song Contest. Lately I have begun working with puppets and find that to be lots of fun.

I live in central Florida and don't mind the heat : ) My other interests are exercising and cooking.
