If Ridley didn't get out of bounds on that game-tying drive, it would have been Ole Miss all over again--two weeks in a row. Way too close!!
-
Worst game management EVER!!! Why Les waited till 9 seconds to call a timeout will always be one of the great mysteries of the 21st century.
-
@meatmeat54 These videos are made by an LSU fan. I'm sure there are videos on here by Alabama fans that you can enjoy.
-
Yeah, without Cam, they probably go 7-5 or 8-4 at best that year. He made up for a horrible secondary and average recieving core.
-
@PhXSuNs6281 Well that's your cross to bare. Please just don't twist good fans' comments out of context and hate on good fans for the ignorance of others. Every big time college team has a number of idiots that make it easy to hate them.

That fumble on the goaline turned the whole game around. We dominated prior to that. LSU self-destructed in this game. That safety, the fumble on the goaline, the 3 picks--2 of which should have been caught by Dwayne Bowe deep in UF territory, the muffed punt that gave UF their first touchdown...
-
Chad Jones almost single-handidly won this game! He has that amazing punt return TD and on the goaline stand, he bats that ball away on third down. If he doesn't, it's a touchdown. And on fourth down, he makes the huge tackle that stopped the quarterback. Amazing game!
-
That WAS a rebuilding year. The defense was young, but they weren't as bad as ppl made them out to be. Remember, JL threw 16 INT's, many ran back deep into LSU terriotry, 7 for TD's. That's 49 points right there! I think LSU dominates so much in bowl games because A) They match up with teams ...

Settling for a field goal instead of a touchdown before the half and those two pathetically bone-headed personal fouls on the drive when they were up 30-21 lost this game.
-
This game was so crushing because LSU outplayed Alabama the whole game. Those Lee picks, the missed field goal and that drop by Mitchell, they just killed them.
-
This game will always be remembered for when that ref took out the South Carolina player.
-
And so began the legend of Jarrett Lee.
-
What a waste of talent RP was. This guy could have been great. If he doesn't get kicked off the team, we guy 10-2--possibly 11-1 the next year, possibly upset Florida in the SEC title game if he stays his senior year, I think we go undefeated and win the national title.
-
If Georgia wanted a trip to the championship, don't get beat by 21 to Tennessee. They didn't even win the SEC East!!!
-
This game totally changed when Arkansas decided to go wildcat with McFadden at QB the rest of the game. LSU simply could not stop it. When Dick was at QB with McFadden as the lone back, LSU was shutting them down and dominating the game. Also, that 4th down and 10 for Arkansas in that first ov...
-
This was actually a key game when you think about it. LSU never played a mobile QB all year. The Ole Miss backup comes in and has a huge game rushing. Arkansas saw that and decided they would get McFadden to run the wildcat almost the whole game. He shredded LSU. He even said it in the postg...

This game should have never been this close. LSU self-destructed with all the penalties, turnovers, blocked field goal and allowing that punt return touchdown.
-
I'll tell you where they lost the game...that drop in the end zone by Kieth Zinger. If he catches that, they go up 31-14 late in the third quarter. I think Kentucky would have mailed it in. He drops it, they have to settle for 27-14 and Kentucky breathes new life.
-
I am so happy that I will always be able to say I was there to witness this game. No, it wasn't as good as that USC/Texas game, but it was an instant classic. Very well could be the greatest LSU game ever. And I agree, out of all the games I've been through, the loudest it ever got is when the...
-
That was a pathetic first-half effort by LSU.
-
All I know, I got drenched at this game. That downpour before kickoff was horrible.
-
I was never a big Gary Crowton fan, but I have to say, he called a beauty of a game in this one. That was a very good Virginia Tech defense and a team that went 11-2 and made it to the Orange Bowl. LSU put up 48 points and an astounding 598 yards of total offense. Amazing. I was at the game a...
-
Mississippi State actually won a bowl game this year, so nice opener on the road for the Tigers.
-
Dwayne Bowe kept Tennessee in the game. He let the ball go through his hands and it got picked off and on their next drive, he fumbles the ball. Thankfully, the got the win.

Horrible calls in this game. First quarter, Hester caught the ball, then fumbled. They called it incomplete. We should have gotten points out of that. The no call of pass interference in the end zone before the half and that just horrible no call of interference late. Don't forget, the guy t...

I was at this game, and this ass-whuping made me soooo happy because before the game, Arizona was stomping on the eye. I wished they would have put 50 on them!
-
LSU's offensive and defensive lines just dominated in this game!
-
You're right, before that eye surgery, Dwayne Bowe couldn't catch a cold.
-
For a while, it was "here we go again" due to the collapse against Tennessee. Thank God Dwayne Bowe made that huge catch on 3rd and 9. We took the momentum back on that play and never looked back. When you can win despite 5 turnovers and 12 penalties, that's saying something.
-
This was a game you have to be really proud of. Arizona St. had a game under their belt to work out the kinks. This was LSU's first game. It was a week removed from the chaos with Katrina and then they're forced to go on the road when they were supposed to play at home. Adding to that, they h...
-
It still baffles me how Justin Vincent fell off of the map. In 2003, he had over 1,000 yards rushing in just 7 games. Had huge games in the SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl but starting the next season, he was never the same. He dissapeared. With that offensive line they had and with how great...
-
I said it when it happened and I will go to my grave saying it, LSU should have called a timeout before that play to talk things over and to make sure everyone knew what the hell they were responsible for. It was total chaos. It looked like they had guys running around not knowing what they wer...

If you take away those two horrible Jamarcus Russell interceptions, we dominated this game.
-
It kinda kills the sting a little bit to know that Auburn didn't lose for the rest of the season and other than the Sugar Bowl, no one challenged them more than we did.
-
USC was VOTED national champions. The Oklahoma team we beat would have murdered the slow Michigan team USC beat by 14 in the Rose Bowl. Oklahoma underestimated KSU and played horribly, but they had a whole month to get things together and prepare for LSU. We still won and dominated the game. ...
-
7:05-7:20 the whole season changed. Saban could have kept Mauk in, but there's no way he should have been running the ball at that time. Before that injury, we were rolling. We were up to #9 in the BCS. Mauk is then out for the season and Marcus Randall comes in. He had one good game against...
-
I will go to my grave saying that Josh Reed should have won the Heisman this year. He had over 1,700 yards recieving! Look who won....Eric Crouch. Really? Josh was a beast this year. He wasn't even a finalist! Still bugs me to this day.
-
4:02-4:10 Hilareous!
-
It still boggles my mind why Saban put up with Josh Booty for so long and kept Rohan on the bench despite how well the team played with him as quarterback. Booty was horrible!! Rohan was so much better, and the other guys seemed so much more confident when he was out there--no more evident than...
-
I also think this was the start of the modern LSU era. It showed they could hang with the big boys. Prior to this game, they were just a middle of the road program. The next year, we win the first SEC title since '88 and the first Sugar Bowl in years and years. Two years after that, we win ou...

USC fans, as far as y'all talking your trash, I can sum everything up by the number 1. For 2003, we have ONE crystal ball. You have none. That year, y'all beat Arizona by 45; we beat them by 46. Y'all beat Auburn by 23; we beat them by 24. There you have it, we were ONE point better than y'a...

@TheKota76 I don't know about any last laugh. We beat y'all by 26 the only time we played, but I'll give credit to Alabama. They were better prepared, hungrier and played a better game and they beat the crap out of us. They were the only team in the nation in the same league with us, and they ...

@CohibaSkeeza Come on, man. Yeah, he threw for 463, but he had to throw it 62 times to get that! Also, let's not forget that Reuban Randle dropped a touchdown pass that would have made it 34-7, that was followed by a missed field goal. That kept y'all in it. After y'all cut it to 27-21, we ou...

I feel for Tennessee. What a horrible way to go out, thinking you won and being jubilant to losing a couple minutes later. However, they have no one to blame but themselves. It was a good call. The refs had to call it; they had 13 players on the field. The biggest play wasn't that touchdown p...

I looked at this game almost like a loss because we barely survived a team that had so many starters out. I seriously thought we would be lucky to win 7 games after that. Luckily, they played much better as the season went on.
