About Me:

Shakir, Yusufali, Pickthal and Al-Hilali are the names of the different translators whose translations of The Quran are considered reliable. Their versions differ according to their interpretation of the original Arabic text. The Quran was written in classical Arabic. Many words have a variety of potential meanings depending upon the context; therefore, translation is dependent upon the translator's research of the intended meaning. Translators rely on a variety of authoritative Islamic scholarly commentaries in order to select the best English substitute. If you read The Quran via TheQuran.com you have the advantage of selecting all of the translations to easily view them side by side. You will find that they are in agreement on most of the wording; however, Shakir and Yusufali seem to be more concise while Pickthal tends to offer his readers more explanation. Al-Hilal supplies his readers with the most extensive commentary even preserving some Arabic phrases alongside explanations of their meaning.

1 اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
Shakir 54:1 The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder.
yusufali 54:1 The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.
Pickthal 54:1 The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain.
Al-Hilali 54:1 The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad SAW to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).

Since Muhammad lived 1400 years ago, then according to Quran the Moon was split in two 1400 years ago. Since science prooves that this didnt not happen 1400 years ago, the Quran containst science errors. Therefore the Quran cannot be from god. That is why I left Islam. Any Muslim that is honest with himself/herself reading this will immediately leave this religion. Open your eyes brothers and sisters.

I am an ex-Muslim. I have left Islam and joined Humanity.
I hope one day all Muslims will free their minds and learn to love the rest of Humanity.
My doctrine is Arabism, not Islam. Arab hospitality, generosity, honor and egalitarian justice long preceded Islam. These are traits of the Arabs and have nothing to do with Islam. Before Islam Arabs were tolerant and accepting of religios and cultural differences. Before Islam we Arabs did not enslave our women, did not permit child marriages and allowed women to engage in business and to work and participate in our society. We did not invade other lands to enslave other peoples to our priests or to impose our language on them as we did since Islam. We Arabs need to return to these cultural roots from pre-Islamic times. Long live tolerant, compassionate and progressive Arabism!

Islam is nothing but a cult of personality for a dead man: Muhammad.
We Arabs don't need someone like him in the 21st century. We can use science and technology as a guide to a good life not the prejudices and imaginations of a 7th century cult leader.
They can't stop or opening our eyes. The widespread travel, studying abroad, and the internet is slowly educating us about the outside world and its accomplishments.
If it weren't for the death penalty most Muslims would leave Islam openly. Secretly 99% left it already, since they don't practice pleasure marriages, child marriages and killing the infidels as they are obligated to do under Islamic rules. They are pretending to be Muslims because of terror practices of the Muslim fanatics and the Muslim priests which order them to terrorize the rest of the world.

Arab brothers and sisters, abandon Islam and return to Arabism. Come back to our roots and let us enter the 21st Century.

Thank you to the new friends and your good wishes. I am glad to find support and understanding from so many different nations. Yes, we Arabs must secularise and modernise. The most important tasks in fron of us is the uplifting, education and employment of the women. No nation can prosper without granting equality to its women in todays world. Also fanaticism and intolerance to other religions, to atheism and modernity is a major barrier to the development of our people. We need freedom of relion as well as freedom FROM religion if one wishes to leave it. The day the arab woman will be free and equal to the man, will be the day when Islamic fanaticism will be dead, anti-semitism will be dead, terrorism and poverty will be dead in our lands.

Wow - I do not see many ex-muslims around. Guess the whole "we will kill you if you leave" thing is effective. Congratulations of reasoning your way out of the faith - I had a similar story with another popular religion. Without it I feel much better.
