i gradiated in 1995 and i made this movie today. its of the german translation of a book i got remaindered from Olin, or so i thought, i checked it out and Macalester also is where i would have failed econ101 but for my gf. at the time. anyone recognize me?

Once a Macite, always a Macite! I think it's fair to say that this president is lightyears more involved and less aloof than was Dr. Harvey M. Rice, the pres. when I entered in 64.
Can't remember who took over a couple years later; just the "Head Hunter" controversy in the English dept and that he, (the new Pres.), was closely linked to same.

But enough. As Mac's 2nd blind student, (as far as I know), may I put in a plug for an audio-described version of the video? Only needs it in spots, sounds like really a hoot in the true Mac spirit.

BTW, "Scotch Tape" follows in the fine tradition of Foxglove, Dewey Decimal and the Librarians, and "The Group", a name ported over by Rich van Doren, (also Class of 68), from a jazz group to which he and I belonged. I know, TMI, but there you have it. Max Swanson, somehow graduated, class of '68.

makes me miss breadsmith, and the bagpipers around campus, and going to shows in the auditorium... and i never even went to school there!

This was absolutely awesome. I echo Mr. Derrington's comments 100%. As an alum, it's great to see President Rosenberg so engaged with the campus. His ability to pick up and make light of all the traditions and customs at Macalester as well as an ability to joke about them and not take himself so seriously are all very welcome additions to the President's Office. Great Video!!

That is an awesome video!! As an alum, I'm proud our president is approachable enough to be part of a video like this. It shows some of the quirky things that make Macalester such a great college.

well, that was...strange. it certainly kept me interested in the college, which i guess was the goal, since they couldn't hope to actually win membership with comedy. but it was amusing, and i am still interested. XD

I went to the wrong college.
