sorry Jim, it was not capitalism, but crony capitalism, allowed by regulations passed by our government, backed by major corporations to limit competitiveness that has created this sham of an economy. Who would want to start a business in a nation in which the government will work with your compe...

@HofiStyla agreed, however, we are NOT a democracy. The idea of pure democracy means a lynch mob is always just. We are supposed to be a Republic, however, via lobbying, we have become more closely linked to an oligarchy, which is rule by the rich.

@rainsfire1 i would say that allowing lobbying allows a corporate state. This is corruption within the government and the business community. Capitalism only grows into an Oligarchy because we allow the wealth to buy allegiance from our representatives.
