Physicists are the guardians of reality.

My site is about Science and Reality. And a bit of fun. Science really IS fun!

We are the way the universe knows about itself. We are a part of this universe, but we are a part of the universe that has become alive .... and is thinking. We are VERY VERY special.

"Anyone who tries to make a distinction between education and entertainment doesn't know the first thing about either." - Marshall McLuhan
About Me:

My life's ambition is, simply, "Pass it on!"

My name is Shane Wilson; My friends and I were active in our struggle for freedom from the living hell that was apartheid. Several of my friends died in our struggle; the only person I have ever loved was murdered by apartheid agents in 1993.

"Mabhekaphansi" is a Zulu nomen given to me in 1983 by my friends during our battle against apartheid: it means, "He Who Looks Downwards", and is usually shortened to "Mabheka", He Who Looks.

I'm a bit slow on the uptake. Recently learnt that your quote about Science being "either Physics or Stamp Collecting" was from Ernest Rutherford (Baron Rutherford of Nelson), whose "den" I visited at Canterbury College in Christchurch NZ. Interesting that he was awarded a Nobel Prize for Chemistry!

Thanks Shane, I was a Maths/Physics teacher in a former life, and turn 60 this year. I don't have an aboriginal name, but was given a Reconciliation Award by the Napranum Aboriginal Council in recognition of my efforts as Principal of the Weipa North State School (Preschool to Year 12) from 1991 to 2000. Whereas your passion is Physics, mine is Mathematics, which is.of course, much more than "the language of Physics". I look forward to following your channel. Cheers, Mal.
