The Jardin Dominique Alexandre Godron (1 hectare) is a historic botanical garden covering an area of 1 hectare, that located at 3 rue Sainte-Catherine in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Lorraine, France.
The garden was founded in 1758 by Stanisław Leszczyński, the last Duke of Lorraine, as an adjunct to the Royal College of Medicine. It is the city's oldest botanical garden, and remained active as such until 1993 when its collections were transferred to the larger Jardin botanique du Montet outside the central city. It was named in honor of celebrated local botanist Dominique Alexandre Godron (1807-1880), who redesigned and reinvigorated the garden during his tenure as director, and now displays horticultural collections in its long, narrow beds.

The Nancy Cathedral is a part of the 18th century district of Duke Stanislas. The building is a mixture of neo-classical and baroque styles, just like the neighbouring Place Stanislas.
The Cathedral was build at the beginning of the 18th century by architects Jules Hardouin-Mansart and Germain Boffrand. The church's interesting features lie in the railings by Jean Lamour, a cupola painted by Jacquard and an organ, which has been classified as an "historical landmark".
Historically, the presence of the cathedral in Nancy is due to the personal ambitions of the Dukes of Lorraine.
The facade of the Primatial, with their small towers was designed in order the make visible the large dome initially planned. But when it was decided that the dome was too expensive to build, the harmony of the facade was compromised. by erecting a third level in the centre of the facade between the two towers, topped by a rounded pediment carrying the Duke of Lorraine's coat of arms and surmounted by a cross.
In November 1742, the first mass was celebrated in the Primatial while the interior works continued.
During the Revolution, the Cathedral was desecrated and became a Temple for the Cult of Reason. Even if the facade sculptures were destroyed, the building nevertheless became a refuge of religious art works belonging to churches that had been dismantled. The organ survived from destruction thanks to a patriotic organist who performed the "Ah! ça ira" anthem of the French Revolution.
In 1867 the Cathedral was elevated to the rank of basilica.

Castle De Haar is located near Haarzuilens, in the province of Utrecht in the Netherlands. The current buildings, except for the chapel, date from 1892 and are the work of Dutch architect P.J.H. Cuypers.
The oldest historical record of a building at the location of the current castle dates to 1391.

In 1892 architect Pierre Cuypers (1827-1921) was contracted to rebuild the ruinous castle, which took 15 years.
The name of Pierre Cuypers is most frequently associated with the Amsterdam Central Station (1881--1889) and the Rijksmuseum (1876--1885), both in Amsterdam.
The castle as it looks now, is an example of Neo-Gothic or Gothic Revival architecture.
It 200 rooms and 30 bathrooms, of which only a small number on the ground floor have been opened to be viewed by the public. In the hall, Cuypers has placed a statue with his own image in a corner of the gallery on the first floor.
The castle was equipped by Cuypers with the most modern gadgets, such as electrical lighting with its own generator, and central heating by way of steam. This installation is internationally recognized as an industrial monument. The kitchen was for that period also very modern and still has a large collection of pots and pans and an enormous furnace of approximately 6 metres long, which is heated with peat or coals. The tiles in the kitchen are decorated with the coats of arms of the families De Haar and Van Zuylen, which were for this purpose especially baked in Franeker. Cuypers marked out the difference between the old walls and the new bricks, by using a different kind of brick for the new walls. For the interior Cuypers made a lot of use of cast iron.
The interior of the castle is decorated with richly ornamented woodcarving, which reminds one of the interior of a Roman Catholic church. This carving was made in the workshop of Cuypers in Roermond.
Cuypers even designed the tableware. The interior is also furnished with many works of the Rothschild collections, including beautiful old porcelain from Japan and China, and several old Flemish tapestries and paintings with religious illustrations. A showpiece is a carrier coach of the woman of a Shogun from Japan. There is only one more left in the world, which stands in a museum in Tokyo.
