About maarten
Maarten started in 1996, in Rouen, place where english pop rock is very influent. The band made his first EP "Our Most Beautiful Days" in 1999 which was very well received by the critics. Moreover, between 2000 and 2001, the band went on tour everywhere in France and among others, he played in two important festivals: "Le Rock dans tous ses Etats" in Evreux and at the "festival des Inaperçus" in Paris. During the 2003-2004 season, Maarten was in residence in two concert halls for a stage work on the new repertoire. After a selection on an "Inrockuptibles" compilation dedicated to the new talents and some remarkable gigs, Maarten has signed a deal with the label "Boxson" for his album "pictures of a Danish girl". This LP has been available in France since June the 1st. Maarten plays a very arranged music, with stringed instrument & brass that make the traditionnal pop quarted guitar / bass / beat / song elegant & harmonic.
