Mk-13 radar could spot to 45km, while Type-22 radar could spot to 40km. But, of course, that wouldn't help Iowa even a little. Her guns had range of 35km, while Yamato's had range of 40km.
Yamato could also use a E13A Jake seaplane to spot the target, and fire to given coordinates.
Well if she had that, then why did the US tanks didn't have that, and a German Tiger could destroy them at 2,000m?
What do I think about sol3a1? Well, he's the first person I ever met on the web. I started a debate about Yamato and Iowa with him jet from July 2011 on a Top 10 Battleships video, but silly, that debate is going on to the present day. Many people joined since then including you now.
The biggest mistake is that he thinks that if a ship has a better radar, that ship wins. Iowa's radar was maybe better than Yamato's but that doesn't helps at all, when looking on main and the most important performances, such as armor, guns, shells and range, where Yamato wins.
