This looks like a brushless hub motor's inside. The moment you moved the hall sensor away it started to produce a lil bit of energy. To get the full effect mentioned by Steorn's CEO is to have a second dynamo/alternator on top of the motor. But not a bad setup

Truly a masterpiece trailer redone. The custom, street-legal Tron bike is on eBay. The Akira bike and now the Batpod are some of the bikes us men dream off. I thank you for reminding me of the Tron I saw when I could remember at age 6 or 8. Even made me want to watch Tron again.
