Saw Head East when I was 15 years old, back in 1976, my first concert. They played this and I had goose bumps. They really were a very good band, especially live.

Great song. Hadn't heard this one in 25 years and it brought back great memories.

I grew up in central Illinois and my first concert was Cheap Trick warming up Head East. I saw Head East several times again in the years after that. Great band out of St. Louis. Go Cardinals and go Head East! Thanks for posting. I've long since lost all my Head East albums.

I wrote "Trees" in about five minutes. It's simple rhyming and phrasing, but it illustrates a point so clearly. I wish I could do that all of the time.

@mlovet100 That actually makes a lot of sense. It would have been front and center in many people's mind's at this point in time. I know it was in mine. I can remember where I was when I learned of John's murder. I can also remember the sickness I felt in my stomach and my heart.

I bought this 10 inch record back in college in 1984. Look how they spelled it "Bangels". They had changed it from the original "The Bangs" I think. I think they had to change that cause of copyrights or something. I really liked it and wrote to the band, asking them to come play at my colle...

@1ring2rule3pigs I totally agree. Even with DD's latest album, the band's marquee is both Simon's rich vocals and a set of underlying bass tracks that bring back memories of Rio. You either have a very good ear, you're a musician yourself, or both.

I love it! I'm very critical when it comes to music. These guys are talented, with some really great stuff, but they've under-achieved on a couple albums too. This is classic DD and I'm tapping my feet and shaking my head to the rythmn like it's the 1980's again. I'm getting this album now!!

I met Joan back in 1980 at a little bar called Mables at the University of Illinois of all places. The Blackhearts were touring their first album. She was really friendly and just as real as she is in this interview. She's good peep's! JUST WATCHED THE MOVIE LAST NIGHT, JOAN. GOOD STUFF!
