This is a hobby and a personal effort to revive interests in songs of Kartina Dahari, a singer of the highest caliber but of a rather short-lived recording career. Under the name TINA she recorded songs from 1966 to 1976, among them 4 EPs and 2 LPs in English and 3 LPs in Malay of mostly kroncong songs. The songs featured here are between 35 to 40 years old (recorded between 1968 to 1976) but they are still fresh and contemporary. The musical arrangement (by Ahmad Wan Yet, Kassim Masdor, Ahmad Jaafar, S. Atan and Reggie Verghese) and sound quality are excellent. Kartina Dahari's melliflous voice and superb vocal delivery is second to none. Young singers today can learn from the way she delivered her carefully chosen songs and her wonderful crystal clear phrasing with the right emotion for each song.
