Ms. Luda Krendel is a classical dance teacher and a choreographer.
Russian born, she studied in the class of the prominent russian ballet teacher Alisa Nikiforova, who was among the last of Agrippina Vaganova students.
Later, after a solo career in ballet companies throughout the USSR, Ms. Krendel continued her training as a teacher at the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, again studying with Vaganova's renowned studends, Yelena Shiripina and Varvara Mey.
After her studies, Ms. Krendel was a ballet teacher and instruction supervisor at the Novosibirsk Ballet School, one of the four leading ballet schools in the USSR.
In 1990 she was invited by Alexander Livshitz, the former soloist of the Kirov Ballet, to teach in his private ballet school in Jerusalem,Israel. She also joined the staff of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance and since then has become one of the best known and successful ballet teachers in Israel, consistently promoting and instilling the principals of professional ballet technique developed by Vaganova.
Ms. Krendel's former students dance in the world's leading dance companies, among them the Royal Ballet in London, Dresden SemperOper Ballet, the Kirov (Mariinsky) Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet, the Vienna State Opera Ballet, the National Ballet of Canada, the Royal Swedish Ballet, the Hamburg Ballet, Ballet National de Bordeaux and Hannover Ballet. They also take a distinguished part on Israel's dance scene leading successful careers in the well known Batsheva Dance Company, Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company and the Israel Ballet, and were the first prize winners during three seasons of the Mia Arbatova Ballet Competition in Tel Aviv.
