I am a freelance journalist who since 1997 has written about the offshore bank and corporate secrecy system that is used to enable fraud and launder money for corporate crooks; drugs, arms and people traffickers, dictators, corrupt officials, tax evaders and other criminals. (Articles republished at thekomisarscoop.com.)
As a result of that reporting, I became founder and co-chair of the Tax Justice Network-USA, the American branch of the Tax Justice Network (hdq in London), which I also helped organize beginning in 2003.
I've written three books (about feminism, US public welfare and Corazon Aquino) and hundreds of articles -- most based on international reportig -- published in US daily newspapers and magazines.
My more distant past includes a year as editor of the "Mississippi Free Press" (1962-3), and a term as a national vice president of the National Organization for Women (1970-71).
