@autorot8ing you can still have friction in a gravity less area, it all has to do with the contact of the parts.

just look like a hole cut in the bottom of the base, doesnt look like anything is inserted, might be just cut away to avoid friction against the plastic seeings as the axel has a threaded bottom, just putting my two cents in, maybe ask the inventor to make a video of just the bottom of the base w...
